It’s no secret that after the “skillful” blocking of Telegram by the hands of the ILV on the territory of the Russian Federation, it became problematic to gain access to other equally useful resources, for example, the PlayStation Network. In today’s article, we will look at a way to bypass this blocking, and you don’t even need to use VPN services or proxy servers.
Guide to Bypassing ILK Blocking on PS4
Let’s first try to answer the obvious question: why not a VPN or a proxy? Well, if you decide to use a VPN service, then you will need to resort to the services of an exclusively paid option. Why is that? And this is because almost all free VPN services have closed ports, as a result of which it will simply not be possible to take full advantage of the PSN functionality. The proxy server also cannot guarantee the full functioning of the PSN.
So how do you get around the blockage? As practice has shown, the most effective method in this matter was the way to force the PS4 to connect to the few remaining, still open PSN IP addresses. We will now consider this very method.
Unfortunately, for this method, you need to use any available PC, as well as an external network card with a USB interface, if this PC turned out to be a computer with one network card built into the motherboard. Yes, there is some price to be paid for an external USB stick, but this is a small price to pay for reopening the PS4’s online features.
So, first, let’s take a look at PSN IP addresses and domains. The following instructions are for Windows users:
- go to directory C: Windows System32 drivers etc;
- find the file in it hosts and open it with a simple Notepad;
- at the very end of the document, insert the following set of IP and domains:

- save the changes in the hosts file and close it.
We’ve dealt with the first stage of bypassing the lock. Now let’s see how you need to connect your computer and PS4. So, you need to adhere to the following connection schemes:
- notebook:
- connect your laptop via a Wi-Fi adapter to the router;
- Connect one end of the network cable to the network port on your laptop and the other to your PS4.
- stationary computer:
- connect your computer to the router via a network cable;
- connect an external network card to your computer;
- connect one end of the second network cable to the external card and the other to the PS4;
Once you make the connection you need, then you need to do some small steps on your computer to open access to the Internet on your console. To achieve this, you need to do the following:
- open the “Control Panel”;
- go to the “Network and Sharing Center” section;
- then select “Change adapter parameters”;
- double click on the network card that connects your computer to the provider’s network, and click “Properties” in the window that opens;
- go to the “Access” tab;
- check the box next to the option “Allow other network users to use this computer’s Internet connection”;
- save your changes.
If you have done all the rule, your PS4 should be able to access the Internet without any restrictions from the RKN. To ensure that your work is successful, run an Internet Connection Test on your PS4. If your console is unable to access the Internet, then you have granted permission to the wrong network card.
And the last thing worth paying attention to is that a computer in such a bundle should always work. So make sure it doesn’t have a sleep or shutdown timer.
An additional way to bypass PSN blocking on PS4
Couldn’t bypass PSN blocking with the above method? Well, that was to be expected. However, do not give up, as another small method has appeared on the network that can help you regain access to all or at least some of the network functions of your console.
Immediately you need to warn that this method will not work for all PS4 owners. However, if you’ve tried everything, including the above method, try the following:
- go to your console settings;
- open the “Network” section and select “Establish an Internet connection”;
- select your type of Internet connection;
- then select “Special” and “Automatic”;
- once you get to the DHCP setting, do not specify anything and move on;
- when the DNS settings appear – select the “Manual” option;
- set the following addresses for DNS servers:
- 109.195.115.56 – for the main address;
- nothing – for an additional address;
- then select “Automatic” and “Do not use”.
Save your selections for a network connection, and then try using the PSN network features. If you’re lucky, you’ll get back access to your games and other features.
