Commands to move or delete a file or folder:
Change to the directory where the files are located:
cd documents
(indicate the location of your document)
Enter the following command in Terminal to move or rename files:
sudo mv desktop.png gamesqa.png
(where desktop Is the old name, gamesqa – new name, new location can be provided with new name)
Note: you can keep the file / folder name and only change the location for it.
How to copy and rename a file or folder:
In the command line of the directory, you need to enter the location of the file:
cd documents
Enter the following command in Terminal to copy and rename files:
sudo cp gamesqa.png ~ / desktop
Note: to copy directories use command “Cp –R ~ / existing_directory / folder ~ / new_directory”.
