Wasteland 3 is now available on the Steam digital distribution store. The game had a pretty smooth release with no major incidents, yet many players still run into a whole slew of technical issues. But this is not unusual: the development of video games is an extremely complex thing and it is simply impossible to take into account absolutely everything.
Right now Wasteland 3 is plagued by issues such as crashes, various bugs and low frame rates / jerks. From this all, the developers will probably release patches, but for now it remains to use the solutions offered by the players themselves. We decided to collect in one article the most common problems in Wasteland 3 and potential solutions for them.

Wasteland 3 system requirements
As always, we recommend that you first familiarize yourself with the system requirements for the toy in question. Believe me, if your PC does not meet the minimum salary even for one piece of hardware, you may encounter a lot of various problems. For example, a weak video card will lead to a low FPS even at low settings, a small amount of RAM – to constant jams when moving around the world.

Wasteland 3 crashes on startup
Be sure to install all pending updates for your operating system. If your OS is up to date, install the latest graphics drivers. Use the following links to download the correct driver package:
Obviously, you shouldn’t try to run Wasteland 3 on integrated graphics solutions from Intel. Still using Windows 7? Then we have to disappoint you: this game, like many others, does not support this version of the OS. You will have to install Windows 10. Also, be sure to check if the VCRedist 2019 library package is installed on your PC.vc_redist.x64.exe, the installer for this software can be found in the following directory:
- Steam steamapps common Steamworks Shared _CommonRedist vcredist 2019
Restart your computer as soon as VCRedist 2019 is installed!
Wasteland 3 slows down and lags
Try closing any unnecessary background programs first. It is definitely worth trying to lower the graphics settings of Wasteland 3. Again, update the drivers for your video card to the latest version (links ↑). Some players claim that Gsync and Freesync can be the reason for poor performance – deactivate them and see what happens.
Wasteland 3 crashes on game
If you are experiencing consistent crashes while playing Wasteland 3, first, use all of the above solutions. Maybe it’s drivers, maybe it’s some kind of conflicting programs – you need to experiment and watch. Secondly, some users reported that crashes in this game can be caused by the absence of the so-called “Media Feature Pack” in Windows 10 (N-version). Use this link to download and install this package:
Once you install the Media Feature Pack, restart your computer and check for the problem. Among other things, you can check the integrity of Wasteland 3 game files on Steam (properties → local files → check the integrity of game files …). It is possible that some files were damaged during or after they were downloaded.
Co-op issues in Wasteland 3
Wasteland 3’s co-op mode is broken at the moment. inXile Entertainment is aware of this issue. They promised to fix it as soon as possible, and also recommended disabling the automatic save function in the game settings – this supposedly should help. Some people advise to check the integrity of the files and add the game to the antivirus / firewall exceptions list.
Wasteland 3 not saved
On some systems, certain games only function correctly when run as an administrator. Go to the root folder of Wasteland 3, right-click on the executable file of the game and select “Run as administrator”. Play a bit and try to save. If everything now works as expected, open the properties of the executable file, go to the compatibility tab and enable the option “Run this program as administrator”. You can forget about the problems with saving in Wasteland 3.
