Some Xbox One users have recently started reporting error 0x876c0001 when they try to simply play or use some content on their console.
Once you get this error, you cannot access the Xbox Store or Guide. Apps like Youtube crash on startup. Some applications will refuse to sync.
According to Microsoft, this issue means that the content you are trying to access is not available due to Internet connection issues.
To fix error 0x876c0001, you should try clearing your cache, checking your internet connection settings, checking the health of your Xbox servers, and doing a console build.
If you have external storage, then we recommend that you be sure to save all important data from the console to it before proceeding with the methods described below.
Solution methods
Method # 1 Re-login to your account
You can solve this problem simply by logging out of your account and logging back in again. This solution has already helped some users on the network. Perhaps you will be that lucky one.
Method # 2 Clearing the Xbox One cache
Some users were able to fix this problem by removing the corrupted console cache. To clear the cache, do the following:
- Go to Settings on your Xbox One console. Now go to “Disc & Blu-ray → Blu-ray → Persistent Storage” and select the option to clear persistent storage. You can repeat this step several times to ensure that all malicious cache files have been removed from the console. Also, don’t worry about your saves – they won’t be deleted.
- Return to the Home Screen. Go to “Settings -> Network -> Network settings -> Advanced settings” and select “Change the MAC address on the network interface of the device” and then click on “Clear and reboot”
- Press and hold the console power button for ten seconds. Then, disconnect all cables attached to the console and reconnect after a few minutes.
- Power up the console. Go to the Xbox Store and see if the error 0x876c0001 has been fixed.
Method # 3 Testing Your Xbox Live Connection
You can check the status of the Xbox Live servers by following this link. If the servers are ok and they are healthy, then try these steps:
- Go to “Settings → Network → Network Settings” and select the item with testing your network connection.
- If you see lost packets in excess of five percent, then you need to diagnose your network connection problems. Alternatively, wait a few minutes and repeat the test again.
Method # 4 Performing a console reset
If all the above methods could not help you in solving the problem with error 0x876c0001, then you will have to reset your console. As mentioned earlier, be sure to save all the necessary and important data from the console, since they will all be destroyed during a reset.
- Scroll to the left of the home page to open the guide.
- Now go to Settings → All Settings → System → Updates and Console Information and select the Reset Console option.
- You will be presented with two options: “Reset and remove everything” and “Reset and keep my games and applications.” Choosing the second option, you will remove all potentially dangerous ones, but at the same time you will save your games.
- If this option did not solve the problem with error 0x876c0001, then select the first option.
