On the Internet, you can find a lot of interesting things. One of those interesting things is Google Keep, an incredibly handy note-taking application that will come in handy in your daily life. Google Keep is synced with Google Drive. In Keep, you can record voice messages, quickly type notes, save photos, and create various lists. And you can access all this at any time and on any device with an Internet connection. Today we will tell you how to use Google Keep.
Most mobile devices, such as cell phones and tablets today, have excellent QWERTY keyboards with swipe capabilities. All these conveniences make taking notes on a palm-sized device incredibly easy. And Google Keep can make taking notes even easier.
How to use Google Keep
When you first launch this application, you should notice that Keep’s interface is quite colorful and easy to use. These colors, by the way, have their own purpose – they allow you to distinguish your personal notes from other types of notes, for example, notes of a labor nature. Simply put, you can create your notes in different colors to make them easier to distinguish from each other.
So how do you use Google Keep? Everything is quite simple and does not take much time. To create a note in Google Keep, go to the application and click on the “Note …” field. Then add the text of your note and a title for it. Once you’re done filling out your note, click “Done”.
Create a new note with a drawing in Google Keep
Google Keep has a special feature with which it can distinguish text from an image and convert handwritten text to digital text. To try the OCR function from an image, click “Create Photo Note” and select the image from which you want to capture text on your computer. Then select the note and click the three dots from the bottom bar. Select “Recognize Text” from the context menu.
Using this feature, of course, requires a permanent Internet connection. It is also worth remembering that the accuracy of text reproduction is highly dependent on the quality of the loaded image. A clean image with high contrast should give the best results. With muddy images, the text output can sometimes be very strange, but at least you will have some fun.
Sharing Notes
In order to give access to the note to other people, click on the “Collaborators” button under the note and enter the email address of those who you see fit. That’s all! From now on, if someone with access wants to edit your note, he will be able to do it as if it were his personal.
This function will be useful, for example, if you have created a list with ingredients for a dish and your mother, suddenly, you need to make changes to it at the very last moment. Generally, use google keep quite simple and convenient. Changes to a note are synchronized in real time, so there will be no missing notes.
Using reminders
Just like an app like Cortana, Google Keep has a location-based reminder that you can link to events such as appointments, tasks, places, etc.
To add a reminder to a note, simply select the note itself and click on “Save Reminder”. At the very bottom you will see two items: “Select date and time” and “Select place”. When choosing “Choose a location” you will have to type the address of the location you need and important to you. As soon as you find yourself near this location, Google Keep will notify you about it.
When you click on “Select date and time”, you can set the exact time at which the reminder should be triggered. As soon as the appointed time arrives, you will receive it via Google Chrome reminders on your PC.
In addition to the functions described above, the Google Keep interface can also be customized for yourself. For example, if you want to change the appearance of the list, then click on the rectangular icon in the upper right corner that switches the view of the list from Grid to List and vice versa.
Google Keep has been out for about a year now and is completely free to use, like most Google services. Also, this utility takes up very little space on your device and the question “how to use Google Keep?”Will disappear as soon as you enter this application.
