Process already running error in Valorant
Valorant is one of the most popular and fastest growing games with huge viewership on Twitch. Along with this, many players are faced with an unpleasant message: “process already running”. They cannot install the game, the procedure is aborted by this code. We found out that Valorant is too closely related to other Riot Games products: League of Legends and Legends of Runeterra. Most likely the problem is in the protection system, anti-cheat. It is used in all games of the company, but there are other options for the development of events.
All you have to do is delete one file and try to install the game again.
Detailed instructions:
- Go to the C: / Riot Games / Riot Client folder and find the vcruntime140.dll file. The path may differ depending on the drive where the game is installed and the path to the game files set.
- We delete the file vcruntime140.dll, it should be the penultimate, but not necessary.
- Launch the game client and reinstall Valorant.
This time, the installation procedure should not be interrupted, but it must install without the process already running error. Additionally, we recommend that you check that there are no processes associated with LoL, LoR or Valorant in the task manager. If they are, it is best to force-close during installation.
