“Servers are overloaded” – an error that can occur when entering a session in PUBG. Tens of thousands of players around the world face this message almost every day. In this article, we will tell you about the causes of this problem and how to get rid of it in several ways.
What Causes “Servers Overloaded” in PUBG?
After examining numerous user posts on many forums, we were able to identify the following reasons for the appearance of this problem:
- technical work on PUBG servers;
- conflict between the game and the software on the user’s computer;
- DNS cache;
- problems with the IP address configuration.
Methods for solving “Servers are overloaded” in PUBG
Method # 1 Waiting
It would not sound so trite, but most often in such a situation the most elementary expectation helps. Perhaps the PUBG servers are under short maintenance. Such procedures are not delayed and, as a rule, are completed within an hour or two. If the error has not been resolved for several hours and other users have not experienced it, then the problem is definitely on your side.
Method # 2 Disable applications
Some applications running in the background may not be “friends” with PUGB, in every possible way interfering with the creation of a normal connection to the game. Moreover, it can be difficult to determine what exactly is interfering with your game and causing the “Servers are overloaded” message. We recommend that you do the following:
- press the key combination Ctrl + Alt + Del;
- click on the item “Task Manager”;
- go to the “Startup” tab;
- right click on each application in the list and select “Disable”;
- disabling all startup applications, restart your computer.
Try to log into the game session again. If the error “Servers are overloaded” in PUBG disappeared, then the case really was in some kind of application. You will have to enable all disabled applications one by one and launch the game in order to understand what exactly is causing the problem.
Method # 3 Reboot the router
If you are using a Wi-Fi router, then the problem may lie in the accumulated DNS cache. To get rid of this cache, you need to restart your router in a special way. Do the following:
- disconnect the router from the electrical network;
- press and hold the power button on your router for 30 seconds;
- connect the router to the electrical network;
- wait until everything is working and there is access to the Internet.
We go to PUBG and check if the message “Servers are overloaded” disappeared.
Method # 4 Reset DNS configuration
Sometimes the reason for the appearance of this error (and others of the same type) can be the DNS configuration set for the user’s network connection. Perhaps something was broken in this configuration, as a result of which you cannot connect to a game session in PUBG. Resetting the network connection settings should fix the problem. Do the following:
- right-click on Start;
- select “Command line (administrator)”;
- run the following commands:
- ipconfig / flushdns;
- netsh int ipv4 reset;
- netsh int ipv6 reset;
- netsh winsock reset;
- ipconfig / registerdns;
- after entering the commands, close the window and restart your computer.
Check if the “Servers are overloaded” error has been resolved in PUBG.
Method # 5 Change IP Settings
In some cases, incorrect IP settings for a network connection are behind such a problem. Try the following steps:
- press Windows + R;
- write down the value “ncpa.cpl” and press Enter;
- right-click on your network connection and select “Properties”;
- make sure that there is a check mark next to the item “IP version 4 (TCP / IPv4)” and unchecked next to “IP version 6 (TCP / IPv6)”;
- save the changes in the network connection settings and restart the computer.
The “Servers are overloaded” error in PUBG should have disappeared if it was about the IP settings.
