Should you open 2020 New Year’s boxes in WoT? We open 80 pieces
We purchased 20 boxes of each of the 4 types and identified the type, from which we got three premium tanks of the 8th level.
Greetings, tankers! With you Wotpack and today we have on our agenda a question that worries many: “should we spend money on boxes and if to buy, which ones are better?” We’ve done our own research and prepared an overview of each of the four options for you. The screenshots will present the most interesting prizes, and the full video is attached at the end. So what came out of our venture and whether the expenses on the boxes paid off, read on.
Each box is guaranteed to drop two toys: one level 5 and the second of any + 250 gold. The rest of the gifts are already completely random.

General summary
Spent on boxes: 7196 rubles. Now let’s calculate whether the amount spent has paid off.
We got 60 days of Premium Account, which costs 5000 gold or 1100 ₽. Total gold 26450 = 5819 ₽. Silver 2,700,000, which when purchased for gold equals 4050 gold or 891 ₽.
At this stage, we have already at least recaptured the amount invested in the boxes (7810 – 7196 = 614).
Now let’s calculate the cost of tanks in gold:
- sand (levels 2-6) cost 10800 gold in total;
- 8 levels 32400 gold.
Total 43,200 gold = 9504 ₽
At the same time, we received a unique crew member, collected all possible 3D styles, immediately pumped 10 Festive atmosphere and collected all the awards + received many toys for analysis in order to further collect collections and open New Year’s 2020 styles.

Christmas Boxes brought us the most Premium Account days. Christmas boxes have given out the most styles. Oriental boxes pleased with two Tier 8 premium tanks at once. Magic boxes dropped a lot of silver and 3 low-level premium techniques.

Inspired by the drop and a little upset that we had pulled out everything except the two-gun Object 703 Variant II tank, we decided to buy 5 more boxes in the evening (we chose Vostochnye, since we had already got two “eights” from there). Given the randomness, we did not have much hope, but it still fell out! From the very first box, Ob came to us. 703 II (122).
Therefore, opening the remaining 4 boxes was a simple formality, but at the expense of re-dropping Pz.Kpfw. III Ausf. K raised some more gold.
Finally, let’s dispel the myth that drops from donated boxes are better than those bought personally. Oriental boxes were purchased by the account owner who opened all the loot boxes. The remaining 60 were listed as gifts from other accounts. You are already familiar with the results of the drop.
