The Outer Worlds guide: analysis of all 15 vulnerabilities

The Outer Worlds contains a variety of popular game mechanics typical of the modern RPG genre, from multi-layered character leveling to an intertwining dialogue system. Nevertheless, the project of the studio Obsidian Entertainment still boasts a number of its unique mechanics. For example, one such mechanic is the vulnerability system.

The Outer Worlds vulnerability system allows you to bind a particular vulnerability to your character when a certain condition is met, directly related to the vulnerability itself. Having fulfilled the necessary condition, the game will show you detailed information regarding the vulnerability and provide you with a choice: agree and bind it to the character, or refuse.

As some of you may know, the maximum character level in The Outer Worlds is 30, and the maximum number of ability points is 15. However, with each active vulnerability, you can increase this value to 18, 19 or even 20 (depending on the chosen difficulty level). Simply put, vulnerabilities are not only disadvantages, but also some advantages for your protagonist.

It is important to note that by choosing a vulnerability, you cannot get rid of it even with the help of a special terminal for resetting abilities and skills. Be careful what you choose, otherwise you will have a hard time. Let’s now go through all the available vulnerabilities in The Outer Worlds.
