Steam is a user-friendly program used by millions of users around the world to purchase and manage their games. But often many people have questions about where the Steam folder is, how to find the games folder on Steam and where the screenshots folder is.
Where in the folder Steam games and screenshots?
It is very important to know where game files and screenshots are located on Steam, because sooner or later many people need to add third-party files to games, for example, various modifications, or there is a need to copy screenshots taken through Steam inside the game.
Where to find games in Steam
The folder with the games is located inside Steam, and if you do not know exactly which section to look for, then it can take a long time. So, to get to the games, follow the instructions below:
- Open the disk partition where you installed Steam. For example, let it be drive D
- Find a folder called “Steam”
- Go to the Steam folder and go to the “steamapps” section (translated as “steam applications”)
- Next – open the “Common” folder, and you will see a list of folders with Steam games
- The general path to games on Steam will look like this: D: Steam steamapps common. Instead of D, it can be any disk where you installed the program, for example, E or C.
Where to find screenshots in Steam
With screenshots on Steam, things are not as simple as with the game folder. There is no separate folder where all the screenshots made in games are stored, and the folders themselves are numerically named. There are two ways to get to the Steam screenshots section.
- Using the Steam program is a simple and convenient way. Right click on the Steam icon in the notification area and select “Screenshots”
- Through the Steam folder. Follow this path: X (drive): Steam userdata. There you will see the numerical names of the folders, open such a folder and then select one of the folders with a three-digit name.
