Microsoft recently added a dark theme for Outlook.com, but Google has provided similar functionality to its users a long time ago. In this article, we are going to show you how to enable dark theme for Gmail.
How to activate dark theme in Gmail
To change the subject of your Gmail (mail), click on the gear icon in the upper right corner and select “Themes”.
The note: you will be able to find all of these points regardless of whether you are using the new or old version of Gmail.
To use a dark theme with gray elements for your mail, go down and click on the tile called “Dark”, which will be to the right of the “Light” theme. However, if you want an even darker theme that uses mostly black, go down and click on the tile called Terminal.
Among other things, you can use personalized backdrops along with the dark theme. To select an image, click on the proposed samples in the list or click on the “My Photos” button. Next, you can click on the “Featured” button to select the best backdrops selected by Google, or click on the “My Photos” tab to select any image from your Google account. For the latter, you’ll have to upload the images you want to Google Photos.
All that is left for us is to set a dark color for the background of the text. Once you have selected the desired image, click on the icon in the form of the letter “A” and click on the “Dark” button. And this completes the steps for choosing a dark theme for Gmail.
