One good tip to start with is to make sure you really want to delete your Apple ID, as deleting it can cause you some serious inconvenience. Also, be aware that there is no magic button to perform a complete Apple ID removal. You will have to spend quite a lot of time for this action, as well as show your eloquence when talking to Apple technical support. In general, the question of how to remove an Apple ID is not resolved immediately and is not so simple.
Now let’s take a look at what you will lose when you delete your Apple ID. If you decide to delete your account, you will no longer have access to the following features and content:
- First of all, you will lose access to your mail, i.e. iCloud Mail.
- Access to iCloud Drive will be lost, and with it all the information that is stored there, which can be fatal for some users.
- All your iTunes purchases will be lost.
- Following iTunes, you will also lose access to your App Store purchases, which could be even worse.
- Also, you will lose access to such a cool service like iMessage.
- If you do not delete the assigned email addresses for the Apple ID that you want to get rid of, you will not be able to use them for registration. And this can bring a huge amount of problems and hassle.
As you may have already figured out, quite a lot is lost when Apple ID is completely removed. Now think about this – do you need to completely delete your Apple ID? Do you need to deprive yourself of all the benefits that you have? If you really do not want to lose all this, then for there is one option, which we will consider later in the article.
So what are the ways you can get rid of your Apple ID? There are two methods for removing your ID. The first one is the simplest and, in fact, does not represent deletion as such. You simply change all personal data on your account, including payment data, disconnect from it all other devices that used it, detach from it all the e-mail boxes you need, and the like. That is, you make an account that is unnecessary at the moment from your Apple ID, which will just be in your mind.
The second method is a much more difficult task than the previous one. And with that, you can actually delete your Apple ID. But just to do this, you will have to contact Apple technical support and try to convince them to remove the more unwanted ID. And it is not always possible to do this, since Apple does not like to lose their customers and they will do their best to protect you from deleting your ID. But, nevertheless, we are sure that you will be able to convince them.
Now let’s move on directly to the actual implementation of these methods. We will start with perhaps the simplest thing – changing personal data.
Ways to Remove Apple ID?
Method # 1 Pseudo Apple ID Removal
As stated earlier, this method does not delete your account. You just change your personal data and disconnect all the e-mail boxes you need from it. Ask “Why, actually, remove any mailboxes from Apple ID?” The thing is that if you want to create another Apple ID with at least some of the specified box from the old account, then you simply will not succeed. These emails will be tightly associated with the old ID.
In general, you probably want to get rid of your old account and link an email account from it to the new Apple ID. Or you simply don’t want to use Apple products anymore. Or you wanted exotic and thrills and switched to a device running on the Android operating system. But it doesn’t matter anyway.
Well, let’s change your Apple ID so that you forget about it. Take the following steps:
- First you need to go to iTunes.
- As soon as it starts, then immediately go to the app store.
- There, look for the “Login” button, which you probably already used. After all, you’ve used iTunes somehow, haven’t you?
- You will see two blank lines in which you should enter your Apple ID and Password. Enter them as before. After that, you will need to get into your account.
- Immediately after logging into your account, go to your account settings.
- Then just click with the mouse on the image of your account in the upper left part of the screen. A drop-down menu will appear, in which select the first item – Account.
- You will see your account settings. Change your personal information to whatever you like. You can pick up something funnier. Also pay special attention to the item with billing information. If your account wants to be hacked, then this information can pretty much spoil your life and improve hackers. The note: you must change your Apple ID (ie Email) to your existing email as you will need to reply to the message sent by Apple.
- Once you’ve made all the changes you want, save your result.
By these actions you will “disarm” your account. Now you need to disconnect this Apple ID from other resources and devices with which he contacted. This is also done for safety. To do this, do the following:
- Go to all the same iTunes.
- Once in the utility, go to Store – View my account.
- In the window you will find a button named “Deauthorize All”. When you click on it, you will reset the authorization with this account on all devices where it was present. Thus, you will reduce the presence of your account to a minimum.
- Now you need to click on the “Device Management” button and delete all devices that will be there. This must be done so that these devices are not loaded automatically.
And now the last step remains – remove the Apple ID from your iOS device. This must be done in order for you to be able to log into a new account on it. To do this, do the following:
- Go to the settings of your iOS device.
- Go to the “iTunes & App Store” tab.
- Find the account at the top of the screen and select the “Sign out” option.
That’s all. Yes, this is not a deletion at all. But as we said, there is no “Delete Apple ID” button and you cannot do anything on your own. All you can do is change your personal and billing information and change your email address. After that, you can put this account in a long box and forget about it. Or use it later to access various content that is still on your account.
Method # 2 Remove Apple ID Completely
If you are so eager to get rid of your account completely, for whatever reason, then you will have to do a lot more work than in the previous paragraph. In this removal method, you will need to talk to Apple technical support. Yes, there is no other way. Only tech support can completely remove your Apple ID, and no one else. To completely remove Apple ID, do the following:
- First, you must follow the next link from any device that has Internet access.
- A certain window will appear in front of you with a choice of the region in which you can be provided with support.
- Then you just need to call the number of your choice. Explain to Apple Support what your phone call is and what you want to do with your Apple.
The rest is up to you personally. Can you convince tech support that you really need to delete your Apple ID. Be as convincing as possible and come up with a more or less sane reason for deleting your account. Also be aware that Apple Technical Support may refuse your request.
And here’s one more thing – do you really need to delete your Apple ID? Maybe just use the first method? After all, there are very few reasons for deleting as such, and it is much easier to just change personal information and forget about an unnecessary account.
