Over the years, Messenger has become Facebook’s personal messaging app that runs offline. It is convenient and liked by many users, but there is only one thing – the application does not contain a button to log out. The original Facebook app has a similar feature. It became especially inconvenient to use Messenger with several profiles. However, there is reason for joy – you can still log out of the system, and this can be done both on Android, iOS or PC.
How to exit Messenger on Android?
Today we managed to find 2 ways to log out of a personal profile in Messenger on Android OS: clear the application data using the “Settings” or end the current user’s Facebook session.
How do I delete the temporary data of the Messenger app?
To exit Messenger, you need to do:
- Close Messenger and quit it from the multitasking list, otherwise the trick won’t work.
- Open the Settings app on your Android device.
- Find Applications, Application Manager, or a similar section in the list.
- Select Messenger with one click on the name.
- Click on the “Clear” button.
- In the additional menu, select “Clear all” and “Clear cache”.
If you open Messenger now, you will notice there is no authorization on the service. Automatic login is currently unavailable.
An alternative option for using multiple profiles is to clone the application. Similar functionality is available on most modern smartphones and is located in the “Settings” section. Cloning allows you to duplicate any application, but share their user data, that is, they work independently of each other.
How do I leave my Messenger account on Facebook?
Most likely, Messenger smartphone owners also have a Facebook app. They are interconnected to facilitate authorization. Facebook profile data is pulled to Messenger, so the user does not have to sign in twice. The same is true in another situation where a person logs out of their Facebook account.
Manual:
- Launch Facebook.
- Click on the “More” button in the upper right corner.
- Open the section “Settings and privacy” and go to “Settings”.
- Among the list of account parameters, you need to find the item “Security and Login”.
- Find the item with the message that there is now an entrance to the system.
- Select a Messenger session and click on the “Exit” button.
How to end a Facebook Messenger session on iOS?
The approximate principle is the same, but with some differences:
- On Facebook, you should click on the “More” item and go to “Settings”.
- Next, I am interested in the element “Account Settings” and “Profile Security”.
- Go to the entry point to the system, from here you can manage all active sessions of accounts on different devices and browsers.
- End a session called “Facebook Messenger on iOS 10” or another OS version the iPhone is based on.
The next time you open Messenger, you will be prompted to log in to the same account as before, or specify different login information.
How do I sign out of my Messenger profile on Facebook?
We can leave the active profile in the iOS or Android app from any other device via Facebook. The only condition is the presence of a device with access to the network.
Algorithm of actions:
- Open Facebook.com in a browser.
- Select the “Settings” item from the drop-down list of parameters.
- In the “Security and Login” section, click on the “Where are you logged in” item.
- Find your Messenger session, tap the ellipsis and select Sign Out.
It may be a little annoying that additional manipulations are required to log out of your account, but Facebook does not yet offer alternative ways. And the developer does not seek to make any adjustments in this area. You either have to accept this state of affairs, or switch to using another social network.
