Let’s not talk about the bad right away, the car is still not without its advantages:
- good armor penetration and alpha strike;

- good mobility;
- low silhouette and ricochet frontal armor.
It would seem that this machine has good potential, but the fact is that flaws make it absolutely unsuitable for the current randomness:
- VLD armor will help out, at best, 1-2 times per battle, since the roof is thin (and with a low silhouette it is just easier to target it) and weak protection of the sides, so few people will simply shoot in the forehead;
- mobility is negated by poor cross-country ability;
- long aiming and poor stabilization will not allow accurate shooting immediately after stopping;
- because of bad UVR, it cannot play confidently on a relief surface.
But the biggest drawback is drum for 3 shells with CD between shots 5 seconds and overall recharge almost 48 seconds… It is worth in a full-time duel to miss once, and the situation becomes critical. Two misses – a direct road to the Hangar, because in 48 seconds any tank will be able to disassemble this tank destroyer.
We are all very familiar with FBG and it can be very difficult to realize a drum completely.
In the era of turbo fights, playing the drum technique often has to “throw off the drum” after 1-2 shots. And because of the long reloading, DPM suffers, therefore sometimes you have to remain an outside observer while the allies shoot an easy target.
AMX 50 Foch (155) not suitable for combat as an independent unit. He is too dependent on allies and does not instill fear in opponents. Everyone will already know that it is enough to dilute it for 1-2 shots, and then you can safely roll out and pick up.
